Good reasons to shop at PHAC:

PRICING
We set realistic prices, by the book. You'll find our prices to be lower than "asking" prices elsewhere. We invite you to check our prices against the NADA Used Car Official Used Car Guide (see "Links"), the Kelly Blue Book, or other price guides. Reasonable offers are always welcome.
If you like a particular vehicle, call, stop by, or e-mail us. The price may be lower than you think.

FINANCING
We offer low cash prices for consumers with reasonable-to-excellent credit (640 and up).  We have financing for some customers with credit scores less than 640, but income and down payment requirements are more strict.

(1) Choose financing through MAX, Guardian, or Tri-Rivers. All these credit unions offer excellent rates, and all would be happy to have you as a member.  We can (and will) write any rate available to you at a branch office, and the process will be far more convenient...... a true one-stop shopping experience.

(2) We will be happy to work with your own bank or credit union. Just stop by and pick up a buyer's agreement with price, taxes, etc....the things your loan officer will want to see with your application.

We can offer considerable assistance with any finance question, so please don't hesitate to ask.

PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION
Heck yes, it's ok with us. You may have any vehicle inspected by your mechanic. We only ask that he be a full-time professional with a fixed place of business. You may also ask to have the vehicle placed on our lift rack, so that you can inspect the underside yourself.

RECONDITIONING AND REPAIRS
We have spent as much as $50,000 per year to inspect, service, and repair vehicles prior to offering them for sale. Those service and repair records are available for your inspection. Interested in a particular car, but see something that needs to be corrected? No problem. Point it out and we will correct it as a condition of sale.

WARRANTY
We have always offered a free warranty (usually 30 day or 1000 miles) with all our front line vehicles. It doesn't cost us very much to do so BECAUSE of our recoditioning and repair program (see above). You may purchase extended coverage (as much as 4 years/48,000 miles) if you desire. A few old, cheap, or oddball vehicles are sold "As-Is".  Most commercial trucks are "As-Is".  Every car has a window sticker stating it's warranty status.

VEHICLE HISTORY
We want you to know what you're buying. Since many of our cars come from the local area (see "We'll Buy Your Car"), we often know quite a lot about them. Sometimes it is possible to speak with the previous owner, but not always. (Since 9-13-97, the Federal Drivers Privacy Protection Act does not allow us to supply a previous owner's name, phone number, or personal information without his or her permission.)

We obtain a Carfax Report on most vehicles. You are welcome to examine it, which will save you the cost of obtaining your own report. We also get some information from the State of Alabama. Many cars are off-lease. These can be identified by examining the title. Again, you are welcome to do so.

WE WILL BUY YOUR CAR
Do you have a vehicle you want to sell today? Ask for a cash offer or tell us your price! We've bought hundreds and hundreds. It's a safe, convenient, and fast way to get a fair price for your old car or truck.
You may also consign your car. We advertise, display, show, and sell your car for you, plus we can accept trades and help with financing. More than 30,000 people drive past our lot every day. We have sold over 400 consignments.

WHAT DOES A USED CAR DEALER DO FOR FUN?

Most play golf, but not here.

Dan built this scale replica Curtiss JN-4C from scratch, then flew it to the two largest aircraft gatherings in America, EAA Airventure (Oshkosh WI) and Sun 'n Fun (Lakeland FL). It was named Grand Champion at both shows. Like most WW1 aircraft, it is quite slow and does not handle bad weather very well. The Oshkosh trip, for example, took 4 days one way!

Total construction time was around 1000 hours, mostly in 2 hour bursts after dinner in the evenings. Almost everything was handmade, including the brass radiator shell and the wire wheels. The engine came from a trade-in here at the lot, a 1988 Chevy Sprint, which was overhauled, modified, and tested. This hobby is not as expensive as you might think. If you don't count the value of labor, this airplane cost less than the average used car at PHAC.

The Curtiss JN-4C, JN-4D, and JN-4H models were the US Army Air Corps standard pilot trainers during WW1 and into the 1920's. They had a long history in Montgomery. Many were based at Maxwell, as well as Taylor Field east of town.

Why should you care about a dealer's airplane hobby?

Because a dealer with enough mechanical expertise to build an airplane is also the kind of guy who can pick good cars ......!!
